Empowering Employees and Greening the Future is at the heart of Hari Krishna Exports’ latest environmental initiative. Surat, India – On World Environment Day 2025, Hari Krishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. (HK), a global leader in natural diamonds and sustainability, announced a new employee tree-care incentive programme. This initiative strengthens their pledge to plant 10 million trees by 2030 under Mission102030, the flagship mission of the Dholakia Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Hari Krishna Exports, in partnership with 1t.org and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
Employee Engagement in Environmental Initiatives
Employees will receive financial rewards for nurturing the trees they plant, encouraging long-term care, and fostering a sense of personal and environmental responsibility. This program extends Hari Krishna’s guiding principle: “What you nourish will flourish,” turning it into a nationwide movement across India.
A Tree for Today, Hope for Tomorrow: A Stronger Commitment on World Environment Day
On this day, Padma Shri Awardee Shri Savjibhai Dholakia, Chairman and Founder of Hari Krishna Exports and the Dholakia Foundation, called on his team to deepen their dedication to environmental stewardship. Since launching Mission102030, Hari Krishna Exports has:
- ♦ Switched to 100% solar-powered diamond manufacturing
- ♦ Planted over 3.5 million trees (3,558,531 as of May 2025) across 25+ locations in India
The mission focuses on planting the right trees in the right places, promoting ecosystem restoration, carbon capture, and sustainable community growth.
“This goes beyond planting trees, it’s a promise to the planet’s future. Every tree nurtured reflects our employees’ commitment and hope for a sustainable tomorrow,” said Savjibhai Dholakia.
Inspiration from Sikkim’s Tree Program
Savjibhai Dholakia was inspired by Sikkim’s Mero Rukh Mero Santati (“My Tree, My Child”) program, which plants 108 trees for every child born to symbolise a living bond between people and nature. This powerful symbolism fueled Hari Krishna’s new employee tree-care incentive program.
Overview of Mission102030 Progress
Mission102030 aims to plant 10 million trees across India by 2030. As of May 2025, the initiative has already planted over 3.5 million trees in 25+ regions, including mango orchards in Dudhala, where over 50,000 mango trees provide fruit annually to employees — an example of regenerative sustainability.
Trees are planted to celebrate:
- ♦ Every customer visit to trade shows
- ♦ Every Kisna jewelry sale
- ♦ Every stakeholder’s birthday and milestone
Alignment with Global and National Goals
Hari Krishna Exports’ environmental work aligns with:
- ♦ India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) aim to create a 2.5–3 billion tonne CO₂ sink
- ♦ The United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021–2030)
- ♦ 1t.org’s pledge to grow 10 million trees and offset 220,000 metric tons of CO₂
Key impact metrics tracked include:
- ♦ Tree survival rates and biodiversity indices
- ♦ Soil and air quality improvements
- ♦ Community participation and youth engagement
- ♦ Gender equity and economic upliftment in rural areas
Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Leadership
As environmental challenges intensify, Mission 102030 demonstrates how corporate responsibility can drive meaningful change. Hari Krishna Exports’ culture of sustainability and collective action not only contributes to a healthier planet but also sets a powerful example for others.
By integrating natural capital investment into its values, Hari Krishna Exports and the Dholakia Foundation inspire communities and businesses, demonstrating that meaningful change begins locally and can have a global impact.
A Reflection from Sikkim
Reflecting on his visit, Savjibhai Dholakia said, “Sikkim is more beautiful than Switzerland. It shows the peace and abundance that come when nature and humanity live in harmony. And deeply admired by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ movement, which we proudly support by dedicating each new tree to a mother’s love.”
Invitation to Join the Green Movement
Hari Krishna Exports will showcase its sustainable innovations at JCK Las Vegas 2025 (June 6–9, Booth No. 13079) and invites visitors to plant a tree alongside them, joining in creating a greener future.
