Dholakia Foundation Receives Water Sustainability Award from TERI

Dholakia Foundation, the philanthropic initiative of Hari Krishna Exports Pvt. Ltd., received the Water Sustainability Award from The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in the category “Protect and Restore Community Water Resources.”

This recognition highlights the foundation’s consistent efforts to promote sustainable water management and restore community water resources.

Environmental Contributions and Impact

Over the years, Dholakia Foundation has made significant contributions to environmental conservation. The foundation has created 111 lakes in drought-prone regions across India and planted 2.5 million trees to support ecological balance.

These initiatives directly contribute to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).

Leadership Response

Mr. Himmat Dholakia and Mr. Rajesh Dholakia expressed their gratitude upon receiving the Water Sustainability Runners-up Award. They shared that the recognition strengthens the foundation’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

They further emphasised that creating lakes in drought-prone areas helps restore local water resources and supports communities that depend on them.

The Dholakia Foundation continues to advance its environmental mission. A new initiative to develop 75 additional lakes aims to create long-term positive impact within local communities.
